Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are
AlgoQuant is the trading name used for the AlgoQuant products and services, including AlgoQuant Studio (AQS), AlgoQuant Engine (AQE), and AQS Cloud. For privacy or legal requests, contact us at contact@algoquantstudio.com. For account, billing, or product support, contact support@algoquantstudio.com.
We aim to collect only the information needed to provide the website, account portal, billing, cloud-connected features, support, and product improvement workflows described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use AlgoQuant, we may process the following categories of information:
- Account information: username, email address, first name, surname, country, account status, and authentication-related records.
- Billing information: membership tier, billing interval, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, payment status, renewal or cancellation dates, and related billing metadata. Card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by us.
- AQS Cloud information: cloud strategy records, live-session metadata, server node records, membership limits, remote deployment metadata, and operational state needed to provide cloud-connected workflows.
- Support and feedback information: messages, requests, bug reports, feedback posts, and related contact details you choose to send us.
- Security and technical information: session data, request metadata, error information, and logs needed to maintain security, diagnose faults, and operate the service.
- Optional performance telemetry: if you opt in inside the application, performance data used internally to improve reliability and performance. This is not used for advertising and is not shared with third-party analytics providers.
3. Your Strategy Source Code And Trading Data
Private strategy source code created or used in AQS/AQE is stored locally on your device by default. We do not receive, host, or review your private strategy source code merely because you use AQS or AQE.
If you choose to connect AQS/AQE to AQS Cloud, we may process the cloud records needed for that feature, such as strategy identifiers, live-session state, node information, billing entitlements, and operational metadata. This does not mean that your private local source code is shared with us.
4. Marketplace And Community Sharing
Marketplace components
If you choose to publish components, templates, connectors, strategy packages, or similar items to a future AlgoQuant marketplace, you agree to share the relevant source code or package contents with us. We need this to review submissions, host or package the component, control distribution and access, support paid sales, and manage purchaser access.
Community backtest posts
If you create a community post that includes a backtest result, you agree to share that backtest result with us so that it can be made public and viewable by other users. The underlying strategy source code is not shared as part of a community backtest result unless you separately choose to submit or publish it.
5. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide accounts, authentication, billing, membership entitlements, and AQS Cloud access;
- operate cloud-connected strategy, server node, live-session, and account portal features;
- process payments, subscription status, billing portal access, and webhook updates through Stripe;
- provide support, respond to feedback, diagnose faults, and improve product reliability;
- protect the security and integrity of our services;
- administer marketplace submissions or community posts where you choose to use those features;
- use opt-in performance telemetry internally to improve the application.
Our lawful bases may include performing a contract with you, taking steps before entering a contract, complying with legal obligations, legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, and consent where we ask for an optional choice such as application performance tracking or public sharing.
6. Cookies And Local Storage
At present, the website and account portal use essential cookies and local storage only:
- aqs_portal_session: an essential first-party cookie used to keep you signed in to the account portal and protect account access.
- starlight-theme: local storage used to remember your selected colour theme.
- aq-essential-storage-notice-dismissed: local storage used to remember that you dismissed the essential storage notice.
We do not currently use advertising cookies, behavioural tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies on the website. If this changes, we will update this policy and add consent controls before using non-essential cookies or similar technologies.
7. Sharing Information With Service Providers
We may share information with service providers where needed to operate AlgoQuant services:
- Stripe for checkout, subscriptions, billing portal access, payment status, customer identifiers, and related billing events.
- SurrealDB or database hosting providers for account, membership, AQS Cloud, strategy metadata, node, and operational records.
- Cloudflare for website hosting, security, routing, and related technical services.
- Feedback and support providers where you choose to submit support or feedback through an integrated tool.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share opt-in application performance telemetry with third-party analytics providers.
8. Retention
We keep information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. Account, billing, and subscription records may be retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for accounting, legal, dispute, fraud-prevention, and service-continuity purposes. Public marketplace or community content may remain available until removed under the applicable product rules or by request where removal is appropriate.
9. Your Rights And Choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal data. You may also withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, such as optional performance telemetry.
To make a privacy request, contact contact@algoquantstudio.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or another relevant supervisory authority.
10. Security, Changes, And Contact
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, but no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your local device, credentials, broker/API credentials, and any local strategy files.
We may update this policy as the website, AQS, AQE, AQS Cloud, marketplace, community features, or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected on this page. For privacy questions, contact contact@algoquantstudio.com.
